From the Grove modular connector prototyping system is the Grove - Light Sensor v1.2. This updated version gives higher reliability and sensitivity. The sensor is designed to measure light levels and integrates a high-sensitivity phototriode (LM358). The unit outputs various analog signals which can be converted to different ranges (depending on the ADC on your controller board). A common example of using this sensor is to build a light controlled switch i.e. switch off lights during day time and switch on lights during night time.
Easy to use since it is interfaced with Grove port
