Q. what are the three pins and what must they be attached to?
A. Hi George, thank you for your question. The pin out is in the data sheet, which would be used for connection to the circuit.

For the price this is an excellent piece of kit for schools and hobbyists. The first one I bought was severely damaged even the capacitor casing was crushed along with a smashed lens and the pins bent over. I was duly sent a replacement which worked perfectly.
