The Seeeduino v4.2 is an open source development board based around the ATmega328P-MU MCU. The board inherits all the features of the Arduino Duemilanove and Uno but also adds some of its own. The Seeeduino has pin layout compatibility with the Duemilanove and Uno, as well as compatibility with the Duemilanove's screw holes and board dimensions. The board features upgrades that improve performance and useability such as a micro-USB to keep a low profile, switchable 3.3 and 5V DC input and solder pads for all GPIOs.

Best version of the Arduino Uno

I have used a few Arduino Uno clones, they all do the job well, but some have some extras that may or may not be useful. This particular version has a few features that I prefer, specifically a) the extra footprints for the headers that are on a 0.1" grid, meaning one can use standard protoboard/stripboard for making "shields"/addons (the original Uno has a mistake where the headers are offset from the standard grid). And b) the ability to run the MCU at either 5 or 3.3V. Sure, the original has a 3.3V regulator for powering 3.3V devices - but the original only has IO voltage of 5V, this version can select between 5V/3.3V for both power and IO meaning you don't need any level shifters for non 5V tolerant stuff. c) It uses a micro B USB socket - like most other devices now. Sure its not USB C but that sitll isn't that common. All on all, well worth it.
