Cable Accessories

Everything you need to route, bundle, protect and identify cable — the essential companions to our own UniStrand cable. We hold a deep own-brand accessories range, from cable ties, clips and trunking to heat shrink, sleeving, glands and markers.

Cable accessories — buying guide & FAQs

Cable accessories cover everything used to route, bundle, protect, seal and identify cable. Use the filters above to shop by type, or read our guide on cable management for industrial panels to plan a full installation. The essentials fall into three jobs.

Bundling and routing

Keep runs tidy and supported with cable ties — standard, releasable, hook-and-loop or steel — and secure them to a surface with cable clips and P-clips. For enclosed, protected routing, conduit and trunking carry cable along a wall or through a panel, and spiral wrapping bundles cables while letting them branch off where needed.

Protection and insulation

Heat shrink tubing shrinks to grip and insulate a joint or termination and adds strain relief, while sleeving slides over cable for insulation, bundling and earth identification. Grommets protect cable where it passes through a panel or hole, and floor protectors guard trailing cable underfoot.

Sealing and identification

Cable glands and bushes seal cable entries to an IP rating — standard stuffing glands for ordinary cable, armoured glands for SWA — and cable markers and label printers identify cores and runs so a panel stays maintainable for years.

UniStrand — and the accessories to finish the job

Wiring with our own UniStrand hook-up wire? Finish the job with our own-brand accessories — ties, clips, sleeving, heat shrink, glands and markers — matched to the branded parts on size and rating, and held in UK stock. Where a part has a branded equivalent, we show the own-brand option beside it so you can compare the spec and the price directly. Every part is backed by technical support from people who know the products.

These accessories sit within our wider cable, wire & cable assemblies range.

Cable accessories — frequently asked questions

What are cable accessories?

Cable accessories are the parts used to route, bundle, protect, seal and identify cable: cable ties and clips, conduit and trunking, heat shrink and sleeving, glands and grommets, and cable markers. Together they make wiring tidy, safe and easy to maintain.

What do I need to manage cables in a control panel?

A typical panel uses trunking and cable ties to route and bundle, glands to seal cable entries, sleeving or heat shrink to insulate, and cable markers to identify cores. Choose ratings to suit the environment and cable sizes.

What is the difference between heat shrink and sleeving?

Heat shrink tubing shrinks with heat to grip and insulate a joint or termination. Sleeving slides over cable for insulation, bundling or identification without shrinking. Both protect conductors; the choice depends on whether you need a tight, sealed fit.

What is the difference between conduit and trunking?

Conduit is round tube that carries cable through or along a structure and protects it mechanically. Trunking is a rectangular channel with a removable lid, so cables can be added or removed easily. Trunking suits panels and dense routing; conduit suits fixed, protected runs.

What size cable gland do I need?

Match the gland to the cable's outer diameter and the entry hole size (commonly 20mm or 25mm), and to the cable type and IP rating required. SWA cable needs an armoured gland; standard cable uses a stuffing gland.

Which cable ties should I use outdoors?

For outdoor or UV-exposed runs, choose black UV-stabilised nylon ties, or stainless steel ties for the harshest conditions and high temperatures. Standard natural nylon ties are for indoor use and degrade in sunlight.
