The Raspberry Pi SC1752 Cooler is a passive heatsink engineered specifically for the Compute Module 5. It enhances thermal management by dissipating heat from key components, including the CPU, wireless module, and power management IC, without requiring active airflow or moving parts.
The cooler features a thermally conductive silicone interface on its underside, ensuring efficient thermal coupling to the Compute Module's heat-generating components. This direct contact helps maintain optimal operating temperatures, which can lead to better sustained CPU performance and longer component lifespan, especially under continuous or high-load conditions.
Passive cooling offers several advantages in embedded and industrial applications:
- Silent operation with no mechanical noise or vibration.
- Improved reliability due to the absence of fans or motors that can fail over time.
- Lower power consumption, ideal for energy-efficient designs.
- Compact and maintenance-free, suitable for sealed or space-constrained enclosures.
Note: The protective white paper must be removed from the thermal silicone on the underside of the Cooler heatsink, before fitting the Cooler to the Compute Module 5.
